The Other
Math is Fun!
This website has so many awesome features. I am really glad I stumbled upon it during my search. It has tons of stuff for all elementary grades and all the standards. I still haven't looked at everything on this site, but what I have seen is pretty cool. It's an overwhelmingly awesome website with tons of information and insight on lesson activities, and how to teach certain things. I will definitely use this in my future classroom.
Grocery Shopping
I think this would be a fun idea to use in your classroom. This will allow students to use real life applications. The goal of this activity is to show students how much value a certain item may hold. I really like that this brings in math to the real world because students are all-time talking about how math does not apply to their every day life. This would be an eye opener to some students who think math is a waste of time. I will use this when teaching students cross-multiplication. This site seems very helpful to do teach it and show students a real life example on how it applies.
Teaching with Technology
This document is great! I really learned a lot by reading through it. Its introduction goes through a series of questions that got me hooked to read the whole thing. I wanted the answers to all those questions. This is a great document just simply for teacher preparation in mathematics. This will gear me up to teach mathematics in my classroom.
